O M motherfucken G! Its Brisbane Hardcourt Bike Polo’s Winter League version 2.0!!

Teams to be registered by 27/5/12. First League day will be Saturday the 2nd of June and the league will end 21st of July. The primary league day will be Saturdays, starting at 11am – games played until late (in lieu of lights).

Season 2 will consist of eight fixtures. Each fixture will consist of two ten-minute games for teams. The season will last for eight weeks. Fixtures will be announced Sundays a week in advance to allow for organisation and mad hype.

A registration fee of $5 will be payable for all players, this is a donation to BHBP going towards lights and boards. Register teams or individuals by commenting below, on facebook by messaging your complete team to Kristine or just tell her or Ollie in person. An updated list of registered teams and spare players will be kept below.

Rules will be current AHBPA rule set as played in Perth.

The season will end with a tournament: The BHBP Winter Cup (better name to come). Scheduled for 28th of July (pending).

With the purchase of lights we will be able to extend playing time into the evening to accommodate players who cant make daytime hours.

As with last season all that is needed for a game is the two teams and a reff, so if Saturdays are hard, then organise amongst your teammates and opposition for another time in the week. Results of each fixture due two weeks after announcement, giving potentially two weeks to play two ten minute games.

Virginia, one of our favorite Sydney-Siders, wrote a smashing tournament review on the recent Cirque Du Sydney. A tourney Brisbane sent fifteen players to!  Brisbane killed it with Majestic Pink Shafts going home with the trophy, Team Local as runners up in the secondary final and Kristine, Ben and Morag taking third in the secondary final. Brisbane also topped the second day throw-in tourney where the top twelve players continued to the final round (seven of these were Brisbane players) where Dom and Jamie teamed up with Virginia to win.

The prize pool is up to $4200 worth of goodies, with twenty one teams registered including a team from Taiwan this looks to be the biggest tournament ever held in Australia.

It’s been ages since we’ve hosted a tournament here in Melbourne, so we’re hosting one on December 10th (Sat) and 11th (Sun)!

That’s a whole month to organise a flight down here for our interstate friends 

Heaps of prizes, many delicious hand crafted brews, incredible polo, free BBQ and guaranteed 100% awesomeness!

First day will be Round Robin, then a big after party
Second day will be Seeded Double Elimination
